Power Utilization Effectiveness (PUE) is an efficiency metric that was originally developed by The Green Grid as a way to measure and compare data center efficiency. PUE is determined by dividing the total amount of power used to operate a data center by the power used to run the computer equipment within it. Therefore PUE is expressed as a ratio, with efficiency improving as the PUE number decreases toward 1.
Total Data Center Power = 200 kW
IT Equipment Power = 100 kW
PUE = 2.0
Future Resource Engineering can help improve, monitor, trend, and manage, PUE metrics for your data center by safely decreasing cooling power while giving you the tools to continually monitor and trend real-time PUE for a single site, or across multiple facilities.Learn About Our Unique Process
